4 Ways to Find Bloat Relief

Have you ever made plans for a happy hour only to then cancel them because your bloating was so uncomfortable that you couldn’t even stand the thought of leaving your house?

We have all been there. Whether it is canceling plans with friends or feeling anxious about the plans that you do have, bloating and digestive symptoms There’s nothing worse than feeling 6 months pregnant with bloat by the end of the day…or even worse, continuing to wake up with that bloat.

But here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to be this way!

If you feel like you have tried everything for your bloat ( all the supplements, fads, detoxes, diets, etc) but feel like there is still a missing key piece to your puzzle, don’t allow the disappointment or discouragement to set in. There is still more to this healing journey!

Because the key behind WHY you are bloated is the lack of clarity on their symptoms and don’t know the actual causes (they just know how to band-aid them).

If you don’t know why it’s hard to know HOW to manage your bloat. You’ll continue throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks

Here are 4 easy tips to stop the bloat:

  • Cook your veggies: Cooked vegetables are often times easier to tolerate. Instead of massive raw salads, opt in for cooked veggies with your meals.
  • Chew your food: Yes, it IS that simple. Chewing is mechanically breaking down your food so it is easy to digest. Focus on slowing down your eating and chewing your food to an applesauce consistency.
  • Identify the root cause: Once you know WHY you are bloated, it’s easier to know HOW to address it. Some common causes are: stress, slow gut motility, low stomach acid, hypothyroidism, etc.
  • And this tip is easier said than done, but it’s important to mention: Minimize your stress.

Stress levels greatly impact the function of your gut, and when your mind feels as if it is in danger (whether it truly is, or you are just stuck in traffic and feel anxiety) it starts to prioritize other functions to keep you alert and alive.

Unfortunately, the digestive system gets pushed to the back burner while your body tries to return to stability. This means that feeling that constant pressure is impacting the optimal function of our gut!

So remember that if you want to stop the bloat, you have attainable tips to start incorporating to feel relief. It’s not a sprint, but a marathon, so focusing on trying to get 1% better each day is not only a stress-free way of healing but a sustainable one.
